You Slept on My Battleship!

The Winter Camping trip returned to the USS New Jersey as we entered into 2026. We had over 30 Scouts elect to sleepover on the WW2 era floating museum. Each got to experience a tour of the ship and learn about how many sailors it took to man such a large vessel, from gunners to navigators, to communications officers, deckhands, and the Captain himself. But it's always the moms and dads who care about that stuff. The kids just like sleeping in tiny triple decker bunks and eating chicken fingers in such an unusual setting. Ultimately, it's a glorified sleepover. But the pictures make it much more memorable then sleeping bags in the church basement.
My sincere apologies to whichever parent was bunked across from my son, when he puked on their stuff. We don't think it was the fault of the Mess Hall food, since he bounced right back. But maybe we shouldn't have let him have so much junk before bed. Either that or getting to fire the gattling gun really shook him up.
