About the event
A 2-part food drive. First Saturday is drop off where they hang notifications on doorknobs in the neighborhood. Second Saturday is pick up where they collect the food donations. Strange as it seems, this is a fun event for kids - not just a good deed. They love running around with friends from house to house hanging the flyers. Then they basically compete to see who can collect the most food. And at parent's discretion, they often hang in the back of pickup trucks or trunks of very slow moving SUVs.
